Real hide
I bought this jacket to replace one that was stolen from my boyfriend. This one has the styling and appearance of the Eddie Bauer version taken from him, with a few important detail differences. The leather used in this jacket is definitely cowhide; it is stiff, rough to the touch, and heavy. The neck is stiff like cardboard and would require many seasons of wear before it is broken in and softened. The inner lining is cotton and the quilting is large stitched, giving it a cheap appearance. The hardware appears to be strong and lasting. Overall, I was disappointed by this jacket and I ended up finding an EB replacement on their sale page.

go on, get both!
I'd been searching for a good, brown leather jacket that I could wear to work (office) and around town, and was really happy to find this one. Trouble was, I liked the style so much, and I wanted the black too. I liked the simple, clean lines, NO ELASTIC in the waist or cuffs (why do designers do that?), and the great cut (slimming too). So I bought both and figured I'd return the one I didn't love. Trouble was, I fell for both of them. I'm keeping both!Both jackets did arrive pretty stiff as other users described (especially in the black collar - but could just be from flat storage & shipping), but both are loosening up appropriately with regular wear. The brown jacket came with a bit more chemical smell than the black, but leaving it hanging outside the closet is helping that to dissipate. The fit was just a bit larger than I expected (I bought Mediums and they were more loose than other Mediums). But as is the fit is still good and comfortable, and wearing more fall or winter wear under them will make the fit perfect to snug.

Great quality on a great price. I have a large jacket collection,( fetish), and these are an awsome fit to my collection. I absolutely recommend these jackets. I bought a black one and a brown one.

This jacket is made of a fine beautiful deep chocolate colored leather. It is well made and looks great.

Nice jacket
This turned out to be a great purchase. My son wanted a "plain" leather jacket. He loves this one. The leather is a nice grade. It seems well made. I think this will hold up for several years. I bought the black and am very pleased.

Fine Jacket.
I love my new Jacket. I have only had it a little over a week and I use it every chance I get. There should be a way to adjust the cuff a little bit but it's OK. It's a keeper!!

One happy teenager
My teenage son asked for only one thing for Christmas - a leather jacket. When I ordered it, I knew it would arrive after Christmas, so I bought a deck of cards to wrap and put under the tree - and I printed out a picture and description of the jacket and slipped it into the deck. It was great to watch him read the tag and open the gift - you could see the wheels turning - "signed by Mom and Grandmom and Grandpop and 2 uncles and an aunt, and all I got was a deck of CARDS???" It was funny to see him find the picture and realize what the gift really was. When the package arrived he was very happy and I was impressed with the quality of the leather. A month later he tells me he really loves the jacket - it's really warm, but not too warm like the fake stuff would be. It's nicely broken in and very comfortable.
