Amerileather Leather Catch-all Bag

My husband wanted me to get a large tote that was unisex and could be zipped closed to use as his carry-on when we fly. I purchased this some months ago and we used it last month when we traveled to Mexico. We carried vital necessities, snacks, reading material, toiletries, medications, water bottles, etc. it was very heavy and we knew that the construction and leather would hold up to the job. We took it shopping and sightseeing and he was never embarrassed carrying it. My sister-in-law noticed it for its size and quality immediately. I'm getting her one for Christmas!

I bought this bag more than 5 years ago and have been using it very often ever since despite the fact that I have never particularly liked the design. Yet it is so practical and universal that it is hard to beat and it is made of high-quality leather and it really shows, which somewhat compensates for the uninspiring design. It is probably the most practical bag that I have ever had in my life. The bag holds anything that you may need for office (and it still looks professional mainly because of the high-quality leather), it is ideal for a single day travel or for shopping (is big enough yet easy to carry over one´s shoulder), has practical outside pockets, never looks clumsy or dirty and it is very easy to clean and maintain. After 5+ years I can say that it looks like it will last forever.

I had a large fake leather tote that I had been using, but the handles were giving out. I decided that leather was the only way to go, but I needed something large enough to handle regular purse stuff and my gym stuff. This bag does all of that and it looks great, too. Deal of the decade, really! One tip--go ahead and unlock the front flap and keep it that way. The key is pretty flimsy, and mine nearly snapped the first time I unlocked it. I have read comments about the smell of the leather being strong, but that goes away after a couple of days. I'm getting my sister one for her birthday!

I got this bag in brown for overnight trips and airline travel. It's great because they can make you check your carry-on, but not your purse. It's too big for everyday use for people under 5'6". You can easily fit 11 X 17 documents inside the bag without having to bend them. On the other hand, if you fill this bag completely, there's a good chance you'll fall over when you try to stand up with it on your shoulder. On my return flight this past weekend, this bag saved the day - I was able to fit an unexpected present of a 12" X 15" framed and bubble-wrapped print inside the purse, avoiding the possibility that it would get crushed in my checked luggage. The leather is durable and on the coarse side, not buttery soft. It is attractive in a rugged, workhorse way with generous pockets and a sturdy body. Recommended.
