    The most luxurious slippers are made from double faced sheepskin. Double faced means a single layer of sheepskin with the outer face being tanned hide and the inner being a thick fleece. Double faced sheepskin slippers breath well and the thick fleecy fibers on the inner part of the slipper allows air to circulate during summer so that feet do not become excessively warm. In winter the sheepskin slippers prevent heat loss and are highly prized for their effectiveness. The slippers are designed to be worn without socks in order to maximize the benefits of sheepskin. Double faced sheepskin wool does not shed, because it's attached to the skin.

    • Size Matters

      I'm returning mine right away. You're not missing something- there is no reference to a shoe size associated with the S/M/L/XL/XXL order options for these slippers. Trying to order the right size proved a nightmare, hope is all I could do that the XL would be appropriate for a size 13. However, when my order arrived, included in the box was a wonderful little size chart that would have been oh-so-handy at the time of ordering. Why this information is made available AFTER the fact I can't imagine, but it's a nice confirmation that yes, I must be an idiot at slipper ordering and yes, those XL's look too small for a reason. They are!So for those of you yet to order, perhaps this tid bit of information will help you make a more educated decision, courtesy of my box containing slippers of a useless size that are goin' back: S= Men's NA, Women's 5, M= Men's 5.5, Women's 6, L= Men's 6.5, Women's 7.5, XL = Men's 8, Women's 9, XXL= Men's 9.5, Women's 10.5, XXXL is Men's 11, Women's 12. So a size 13 must be unheard of in the land wherever these are made. Good luck!

    • An immediate return!

      Unless you plan to wear these exclusively with socks, the bare, coarse, elastic band that runs across the top of the foot (not visible in the photos) will rub your skin raw! This is an obvious design flaw that renders the slippers useless. They look lovely but are completely unwearable; I am returning them immediately.

    • This is the second pair that I.ve bought!!

      I love these slippers. They are warm and comfortable. I just bought another pair because I was wearing the others out. They have the funny smell when you first unpack them, but spray a little Febreeze in them and it will go right away. I wear a half size and normally have to order the next size up. Don't do that with these, order the next size down as they run large. Oh, by the way the slippers that are wearing out have been worn for at least 2 years every day. This is one of the best purchases that I have ever made.....

      Slippers oversized length and width. Elastic band used to tighten slipper around foot. Nice materials but not very well constructed.

    • Buy a whole size smaller than you normally would. These are GREAT slippers and so comfortable. I'd buy them again and again!

    • Runs large

      I ordered size 6, usually wear size 7. Fit with the smaller size. Very wide, but the elastic strap over center keeps them on, and is not too tight. After 2 mos, seeing some gaps in the stitching where the sole is attached to the upper. Stitches intact, so maybe they have stretched out. Like the sole, I can get the mail without having to change shoes. Nice and warm.

      Very soft and leather of high quality, so a great bargain and I get up to boost the temp on the thermostat less often.

      • How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Actual color is lighter, nicer looking.
      • Please tell us about the quality of the product. Good quality leather, flap can be unflapped to cover more of the foot, fresh from tannery smell, sole is not too heavy.
      • How accurate was the sizing? Good-no women's 7 so took a chance and bought men's 6.5, which I can wear with thin socks.
