Description:

Victoria Davey Spelling, also known as Tori Spelling, is daughter of the famed television and film producer, Aaron Spelling. At the age of ten, Tori began appearing in film and television shows; mostly funded by her dad and although critics disparaged her, she kept pushing her way through to fame. The Beverly Hills 91210 star is now in her 30s and has survived both the insults and ridicule of her father's shadow. Spelling's memoir covers her childhood lavish birthday parties, her disastrous marriage and even her nose job. Tori finally tells her side of the story.

    • Great Read

I love Tori Spelling.. I am not a crazed fan but I relate a lot to her and her book was a great read. She gives a lot of insight to her life.

    • So-So Book

I read this book in a day and a half. It was good gossip and that is about it. I have a hard time believing she struggles with money. I mean.. come on people... she makes a whole lot more than I do in a year so I did have a hard time with the sympathy. I got tired of the "mommy bashing". I love Tori but I feel like she is using her mother to make money by creating gossip about her. There are two sides of the coin.. err should I say story.I did read CandyLand as well. I felt it was only fair and yes, her mother does make a few comments about Tori and she does make a valid point about Tori and her inheritance. I wouldn't complain if I got the money Tori did. The difference, Tori spent her whole book comparing or talking something about her mother. Candy only spent the first couple chapters and then went on about who Candy is and her favorite memories. If you take the time to read this book I suggest being fair and read her mother's book.

The book was good - an easy read. It left me wanting to know more about Candy Spelling and the relationship she had with her mother and how she grew up. She is portrayed as a mild Joan Crawford. Sad really. My take is when Aaron entered the Manor, he lost all power. She ruled the roost - period! Aaron Spelling was a very successful man and I expect when Candy passes she will leave her entire estate to charity...just like Joan did. There's no way Tori and Randy will benefit. It's really ashame, as I am sure Aaaron didn't work all the years to have it given away. Candy seems really jealous of Tori. She is now coming out with her own tell all book, I am sure only to show up Tori in sales. I don't think Tori would have ever written the book, if she didn't need the money, but I think the book had to be on some level theraputic. Who knows, maybe we all have been hoodwinked.

    • Good Book!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this light fluffy book about Tori, and know i can actually feel sorry for her....This story goes to show that money does NOT buy happiness! She ias actually a very sweet girl, in spite of the bad press she has received.

    • Stori Telling

I bought this book because I enjoyed watching Tori Spellings recent show. I felt that the book was okay in the respect that it definately gave her thoughts and opinions of why she grew up the way she did. I could not however imagine that she was that naive about what was happening around her. Was she that helpless and was she that "victemized"? Only Tori knows the truth I guess. I just felt that while reading the book it was purely for entertainment. I got half way through and had alot of questions about why an intelligent girl would let others around her dictate the course of her life. She made alot of decisions that were questionable. She was used to being taken care of and she had no life experience. One more thing, no one would keep me from my father if he was in ill health and certainly not a movie deal. Anyone who buys this book can judge for themselves about what real and what is fiction. After finishing, I just wasn't sure it was worth what I paid to read it, and I still had questions. On a scale of 1-10 I guess I would give the book a 6.
