Even though Yes fans are a rabid and dedicated bunch, does anyone really need a three-disc set of live Yes (in some fashion) as well as "solo" material? The latter is what is truly suspect here. It`s true that live Yes from virtually any period has great moments, some even truly awe-inspiring, and there are some of those here, including the stunning opening track, "Yours Is No Disgrace"; a brilliant, jazzed-up "Close to the Edge"; and a moving "Homeworld." Even some of the solo material kicks, such as the gorgeous acoustic "Your Move" by Steve Howe with Jon Anderson and Chris Squire, Anderson`s funky 1999 version of "Owner of a Lonely Heart," and even Squire and Billy Sherwood`s "Lonesome Trail." But there is stuff that has no business here, such as Adam Wakeman and friends` version of "Long Distance Runaround" and "Going for the One," as well as Jemma Wakeman`s horrific "I Believe." What a way to tarnish a three-disc set. Pick and choose carefully. ~ Thom Jurek
