It worked right out of the box, first time. That was a major relief. I went through four guitars in a row at a local place, and finally ran them out of stock. The first one wouldn't connect to the Xbox 360, and the other three had the world-famous "no overdrive" problem. The one I bought from Overstock, however, works perfectly. I have had no issues with it at all. It is selling on Overstock for the best price anywhere. I highly recommend it; if you like using the Fender Strat wired, you will LOVE it wireless.
