? The role of drugs and alcohol
? What can be fixed, and what can't
? How to leave a relationship safely

Lundy Bancroft has spent the last fifteen years of his career specializing in domestic abuse and the behavior of abusive men and is considered one of the world’s experts on the subject. He is the author of journal articles on abuse that have appeared in The New England Journal of Medicine and The Journal of Contemporary Psychology. The former codirector at Emerge, the nation’s first program for abusive men, Bancroft now practices in Massachusetts while training various state and judicial agencies in dealing with domestic abuse situations.

  • Fabulous Book

This book cuts through the myths we've been taught- if you change your dance, he'll have to change his. I wanted to know hard facts: statistically, will he change,or will it be enough; what am I doing that is causing it, is it possible do do anything different to prevent it; what is in his wiring causing him to act like he does. This book offers resourses to help the abused woman get out safely and insight into what behaviors to watch for. I have read any number of boundaries books that want me to believe that if I change he will. They are not talking about the selfish, abusive male who has a conciously thought out plan to crush his mate.

  • Must Read for Women, Police, Judges, Lawyers

This book clearly opened my eyes and that of my lawyer, judge and local police during my divorce proceedings involving physical & mental abuse. Our community was fortunate to have Mr. Bancroft visit our town and speak. In his book he puts into words what every woman in an abusive relationship knows but questions it to be true. I have given this book to women in abusive situations and to those people involved in rescuing them. It will help you realize you ARE NOT CRAZY and what you feel is real! Read it, recommend it...it will save a life, it did mine!
