Karen Wild is a full-time, qualified U.K. dog trainer and behaviour consultant with over 17 years experience. She has an honours degree and diploma in Psychology from the University of Nottingham, is a full member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors and is an Associate Member of the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers.

Wild deals with dog behaviour problems in a family-oriented, practical way based in solid scientific fact. Her experience has ranged from class teaching, obedience, flyball, agility and working trials competition to running a popular dog display team. She formed her company Pawprint for behavioural consultations and training, and Intellidogs which specialises in online advice in this area. Her passion is to create and rebuild the enjoyment factor that can come from pet dog ownership.

Her work with dogs and young people includes her programme to bring more dogs into schools in the U.K. as well as a heavy focus on children and safety around dogs. She is a regular contributor to Dogs Today Magazine and she is a regular blogger for Dr. Ian Dunbar's revolutionary website, Dog Star Daily.
What Your Dog Wants is a unique book that focuses on you, the dog owner, and encourages you to develop the seven key skills that will teach you how to work with your dog as a team. Each chapter introduces a key skill--from comprehension to communication to motivation--and shows you how to build on the basics and develop them further. You’ll read about why it’s important to create a digging area for some dogs, why you should use a consistent set of signals, and why you should always approach a new dog from the side.
By following the expert guidance in What Your Dog Wants, you can build on your skills as an owner and learn how to make your dog friendly, happy, healthy, and well-behaved, making him or her a pleasure to own.
