Watchmen, the movie is based on the hugely popular graphic novel of the same name. And it remains mostly faithful to the comic. The movie is set in a parallel universe, in 1985, where the world is in a state of unrest, and superheroes are forced to retire for good. What is so different about this movie, is that it portrays superheroes differently, unlike the boy scouts that we usually see. Here we see a darker side to these vigilantes, and a look into their messed up personal lives. The movie begins with the murder of 'The comedian', an ex super hero, and this motivates the super heroes to band together, to find the killer. But what they discover, is a plot, that might destroy all mankind. This is definitely a movie meant for mature audiences, since it has rather graphic fight scenes, and also a couple of sXX scenes. Something that you might not expect in a movie based on a comic book, but then this movie is different.
