There`s little doubt that these glockenspiel and vibraphone-laced renditions of Bob Marley songs are soothing, sounding as if Marley`s songbook were being played by a giant music box with just the slightest trace of Jamaican rhythm left intact. It`s disconcerting to hear street anthems like "Get Up, Stand Up," outlaw sagas like "I Shot the Sheriff," and cultural history like "Buffalo Soldier" reconfigured as little wind-chime sonatas, but hey, they`re sure pretty in these arrangements and one could easily fall into dreamland (now that`s a Wailers song that should have been on this collection -- Bunny Wailer`s "Dreamland") while listening to these decidedly non-rasta vibrations. ~ Steve Leggett
