MUSIC FROM THE MOUND is an odd little mix of American and Japanese pop and rock songs that Boston Red Sox superstar pitcher Daisuke "Dice-K" Matsuzaka pumps up in order get pumped up before games. With tracks from LL Cool J, Duran Duran, and Japanese tough-guy popstar Tomoyasu Hotei, among others, the set is about as eclectic as they come. The real draw for Matsuzaka fans, however, is the opening track, "Gyro Ball," an ode to the mysterious pitch to which he is forever linked. A portion of the proceeds from the album will be donated to the Boston Red Sox official team charity.
