Well written and full of useful information no matter if you are an experienced motorcycle camper or going on your first trip.

I bought this for my dad, who is a Ford dealer and has an Aston Martin. I has amazing photos and really details the companies past. Great book.

  • Great for newbies

As someone who knew very little about the workings of the internal combustion engine (among other things) but wants to have a much closer relationship with the workings of the motorcycle, this was a great place to start. The writing was practical and easy to understand for beginners, but not necessarily entertaining (not really a surprise given the purpose of the text). While not being able to focus on a specific bike, the information was written to cover the many possibilities. Definitely a worthwhile read for me.

I used this book to rebuild my 427 around 1982. Yes, it's the same book and still full of all the same perfect information. I remember the book said to be sure check the rocker-arm shaft in a specific location for the possibillity of a crack. Yep, there was a crack right where it said it would be. Saved me a lot of heartache!!! When I bought the motor I was told it was a 428. With the part and casting numbers in this book I learned it was actually a 427.

My son loves every book from this collection! The "truckload" includes the entire collection and is a very affordable shower and birthday gift for boys.
