TONY BENNET AND FRIENDS RECORDED SOME GREAT OLD SONGS

My girfriend was SO excited when she recieved it in the mail as a surprise! She had viewed the program on an mpt station and thoroughly enjoyed it--raved about it! I immediately went to Overstock.com, found both soundtracks that were available (she didn't know there was a previous one recorded), and she received one in the mail within the same week and the next one a few days later--she was ecstatic! Thank you, Overstock!!!

Excellent recording, great variety. He records with several current stars, all of whom seem to have the greatest respect for him and his style.

I knew what I was ordering because I watched the TV show. I saw that and I knew I had to have my own CD. I look it up on line and play it while I'm puttering on my computer. My favorite piece was with Aretha and How Do You Keep The Music Playing? Like Tony, it makes me cry, it's SO beautiful. It tells the whole story of a relationship. My least favorite was Andre Boccelli. I thought Tony was awkward with him in his home and Andre was not in his element. I love Andre's work otherwise.

Tony Bennett is at his best at 85. His guests were sensational. It's great to hear something besides a bunch of screaming idiot rockers playing wrong chords and random thumps.

What can one possibly say? It is Tony Bennett. You are discussing the Rolls Royce of American entertainment. He is the benchmark of music for over 60 years. Only Sinatra lasted that long. A little known fact is that Tony has been voted "Entertainer of the Year" 2 years in a row by MTV. Voting was from the age group 0f 16-24 year olds. Years age he was singing to the grandparents. Amazing!

great disc. great songs, suprised by the rock stars performances.

I was very please with this CD, I love to hear interesting duets with Tony Bennett. I will include this CD as Christmas gifts. Price is very good also!!

This music is really fantastic, and such a departure from the norm.

I was just a little bit disappointed with this one. I love Tony Bennett and I usually enjoy duets, but this one just had too much fake sounding chuckles and "Hi Tony'"s, "Hi, Michael"s, etc. It was just a bit lean on actual serious song performing and a little heavy on "cutesy" back and forth exchanges between Tony and the artists. Most of the songs are good but I would have preferred more straight forward singing and less forced dialogue and contrived lyrics on some the others. Tony still sounds great though!
