ZofS2 is entertaining as well as educational. My screaming is more enunciated since viewing it, and I learned a few more different ways to breathe in addition to what I've learned in the first one.
Warning to potential buyers: You must first master what's taught in the first DVD before buying this one. This one's a little more appealing because there's "actual screaming" in it, and not just a whole bunch of "wee eee wee ee" "gee ya, gee ya, gee ya" kind of exercises, but Cross warns that you will damage your vocal chords if you don't learn the breathing techniques from the first DVD ("baby," "over the pencil," etc). The commentary from the musicians about heavy metal is great -- they make some valuable points about why they're metal singers. The vocal chord camera shots are not for the squeamish. Angela Gossow does this really wicked pattern after her and Melissa Cross discuss the different vowel sounds you have to practice with the "fry" scream, :D The demonstrations on enunciation and "why metal singers should not worry about being louder" are really good points. This DVD made me want to check out the Melissa Cross website and learn even more.
