The World`s Healthiest Foods

The World's Healthiest food book is fantastic on educating yourself on how to pick the foods you eat to benefit your body the most. It goes through the best way to prepare it to bring out the most nutrients. It also has a meal plan to get you started. The down side is that it is not a cook book. it is categorized by food items with a few preparation suggestions and a recipe or two.

This book encompasses so much it should appeal to anyone who likes to cook or eat! The emphasis is on healthy, but the recipes are easy and flavorful. My teenager now reaches for this book whenever he fixes a meal. Parts 1 through 4, 6 and 7 discuss healthy food and nutrition. Part 5 is divided into sections by food type (i.e., vegetables & salads; fruits; nuts & seeds, etc.) and has encyclopedic information about the world's 100 healthiest foods. There is at least one recipe per food with color photos. My only quibble is that the foods are listed in order of nutirient-richness (versus alphabetic), so it is a bit diffcult to find a specific food without going either to the first section page or to the index.
