The tipping point is that magic moment when an idea, trend, or social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like wildfire. Just as a single sick person can start an epidemic of the flu, so too can a small but precisely targeted push cause a fashion trend, the popularity of a new product, or a drop in the crime rate. This widely acclaimed bestseller, in which Malcolm Gladwell explores and brilliantly illuminates the tipping point phenomenon, is already changing the way people throughout the world think about selling products and disseminating ideas.

Malcolm Gladwell is also the author of the #1 bestselling Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking. He was a reporter for the Washington Post from 1987 to 1996, working first as a science writer and then as New York City bureau chief. Since 1996, he has been a staff writer for The New Yorker.

  • great book

Well written and logic based...provides insight on situations we normally overlook. I had actually read this book a few months ago and ordered a copy for my business partner, since we're trying to launch a new idea in a key market. Don't find the anecdotes all that necessary, but the core material is solid. It's nothing complicated to try to understand, but common sense expressed in this manner is worth reading. Shipping was cheap and quick--arrived to my friend in less than a week for roughly $3.
