I read this book when it first came out in mid 2004 and was deeply touched by it. I fell in love with the characters and their amazing journey through and against time. The author tells an amazing story about a time traveler and his wife, and how their lives are forever intertwined. When I finished the book in a matter of days, I felt empty as I did not want to the story to end having come to know and love the characters. Since I found the story so profound, I shelved it away thinking that I probably wouldn't reread it for a while because the story really stuck with me. Recently, I loaned it to my sister and after she read it, we talked about the story. From our discussion, all the emotions that I felt over four years ago when I read the book came rushing back and I remembered it so vividly. It is truly an unforgettable story that is beautifully told. I can't wait to watch the movie due out in December 2008.

I loved reading this book. When I was finished I felt like the story had come full circle and that it had a cohesive storyline. At first I thought I would be confused by all the jumping around but they eventually made it back and pulled it all together. Loved the book and would recomend it to a friend. I would suggest reading the book before watching the movie.

I found the book to be confusing and crass. The comtent and inuendos are misplaced and unnecessary. I wanted to read the book because it sounded like a lovely romantic fantasy. What I found instead was a confusing, at times disturbing, novel that has a weak storyline and thin characters.

This book is a wonderful escape into the future and into the past and all the while weaving a wonderful love story. I've read it several times, and each time I enjoy it like the first time.

After closing the book and allowing the imagery to settle, I find it's surely striked a chord. *sigh* This book is different from what I'm used to, but that doesn't lessen it's greatness whatsoever. The plot is creative, vivid, bleak, at times morbid. The story is lamentable, but the coming together of hope and time; past, present and future, partially alleviates the sorrows and lighten glooms. Can't wait to see the movie!

While this book appears to be science fiction based, it is the interaction between the characters and their love story that makes this book a cut above! Imagine being able to visit yourself as a child, and to see those you have loved and lost again....I could not wait to pick this book up again! I would read anything this author has written.

What a great book...I checked it out from the library and loved it so much that I bought it as a gift for a family member. Yes, it's a love story, but with a great twist and not just a "romance novel". This is a thinking person's romance. Seems like a confusing plot, but you will really start to connect with the characters.

This is a legendary love story. By making time-travel a genetic disorder, the book is very modern. Yet, it is also a symbolic way of representing the deeply felt trauma of a couple dealing with health problems, fertility problems and many of the other typical situations that can occur in life. The writing is superb and this is what makes the story so compelling. The premise is unique, so this book is very different from any other I have read. The story draws you in and you become one of the friends or family of our star crossed couple. For all the artifice of the theme - time travel- the actual story seems so real in many ways.

This book was both sad and funny. It was dificult to follow in many places until you get to the end and it all falls into place. It was a terrific love story and very well thought out .

Interesting read, got a little tedious at the end going back and forth. Stimulates consideration for is Time Travel possible.

This is a wonderful novel. Read it! (Or don't. But don't blame me if your life suffers because you're too stubborn to read.)

Great read, would recommend it to all of my girlfriends. Loaned it out, but can't wait to get it back again and read it.

I have read this book no less than three times and now am yearning to again (but I loaned it to my MIL) who is also loving it. Though the characters break my heart in the end, I wish I could jump in the story and be Claire's and Henry's best friend.

We all enjoyed this book, some found it more emotional than others, but all found it a good non-complicated read and would recommend it to others
