One of the best epic movies of our time.The story of Moses so parrelled the Bible story, the sceanary for that day was spectacular with no computer imaging, etc.For anyone that has never seen this movie and who likes the biblical movies, it is a must.

We have always enjoyed this movie; my adult son especially. Charlton was at his finest, as were so many of the other actors we have enjoyed watching for so many years. I love the retrospectives. I am so happy to own this wonderful movie after having to watch it for so many years "cut with commercials," or waiting for TCM to air it so I could watch it "uncut.". Now, I can put it in any time, but most especially at Easter. The DVD is probably the most attractive one in my collection; would that all looked like this; of course it was a 50th anniversary DVD. This item came so quickly and with nominal shipping and handling. I would recommend Overstock. My other son advised me that this is a very safe site and would never have to worry putting in my credit card number. So, I will continue to use Overstock when I truly want the movies from the past that I love. Westworld will be my next one, with Yul Bryner. Thanks, Overstock.

The Ten Commandments starring Charlston Heston holds sentimental memories. It was shown every Christmas as I was growing up. After my mother passed, I wanted to keep this tradition. It is hard to find religious films that celebrate holidays. I searched and found it thru Overstock. Not only did I get the version I was looking for, the original came with the packet. An outstanding deal.

This movie is an oldie but a goodie. I hope people continue to watch in order to praise a worthy God who freed the slaves of Egypt. The film recreates, with a horde of extras, the mass of enslaved persons moving from slavery to freedom through miracles and human drama. It is a film for all ages.

It was a Mother's Day present for my mom. She's been looking for this movie for a while, it was hard to find it in spanish but she loved it & couldn't wait to see it.

The movie and the DVD production was outstanding. Was a bit disappointed that Spartacus with Kirk Douglas was so costly with it being such an old film. Couldn;t afford that one.

This is such a GREAT movie! Definately on the list of unforgetable classics!!

For the last several years my wife and I have hosted a Ten Commandments Party, around Passover, watching the movie on TV, and serving Passover snacks. This year we decided to order the DVD so that we could schedule it independently of the TV. We encourage our guests to dress as a person from the Exodus history and we discuss, answer trivia questions and enjoy. The DVD package was great because of the extra features and the original silent CB DeMille version that was included. This Ten Commandments Party is well on its way to becoming a Passover Tradition that we find enjoyable and educational. I have previously found great bargains in DVDs from Overstock and will certainly continue shopping with them.

This is one of the all time great movies for all ages. One reason it is so good because it is taken from a truth found in the Bible, which is always good.

The Ten Commandments is a timeless movie. Great for all ages. Watching it on TV just doesn't do it justice. Catches my breath everytime I watch it.

The 10 Commandments is a timeless classic. Nearly every year it has aired on TV, yet TV can never do it justice for all the commercial interruptions. The DVD shows the cinematography in all its beauty. The story moves one no matter how many times one sees the film. The special effects, as old as they are, look just as good as if done digitally. This particular edition includes Cecil B. deMille's original silent version, still beautiful in its own right. Everyone should see them both.

I always enjoyed watching this movie every year, around Easter time. I did not want to be interrupted. I was so thrilled to get this movie in the mail, and start watching it with them, they love the movie just as much as I do. Its nice to have a movie that the whole family can sit and watch together, this is definately a timeless classic.

I was extremely excited when I discovered the package waiting for me at home. I couldn't believe it was shipped so quickly and during the Christmas rush. When I opened the box, I was first astonished by both the outside and inside covers with its many colorful movie scenes. It was so beautiful my first thought was - I wanted the outside cover framed. Remembering the first time I watched "The Ten Commandments" on a black and white television as a child of six or seven seemed to just add to the excitement when I sat to enjoy this DVD. I truly couldn't take my eyes off the television as I became "awestruck" by the clarity, color, and contrasts of every scene and the star performances of the many actors/actresses who brought every part to life. Each scene with its different landscape and setting made me feel I was living within the movie. I felt the despair in the hearts of the enslaved and over-burdened Jews and the pride and mightness of the royalty in Egypt. It was the most gratifying experience I'd had for a long time and I'll never forget it. I assure you I will watch this DVD at least three to four times a year AND I will pass it on to my grandchildren for them to understand the importance of believing in God and obeying his many commandments. I want to thank the movie industry for all their talents and efforts in preserving the classic movies which should be watched time and time again. This world needs to watch reality DVD's and movies and not so much fantasy and violence to help with the morality which lately is stuck in a depressing downward pulling spiral.

This is a classic movie that every family should have. With our VHS on its last leg and technology the way that it is, the DVD version is he best purchase. We can now skip from scene to scene, view commentaries and travel with the movie. The move is clear, audible and the package is wonderful as a gift.

My mother and I are not particularly religious, but we LOVE the Ten Commandments. I saw a clip from the movie and I told my mother. We both were thinking the same thing -- we have to get it! It wasn't available at the local video rental so we decided, What the heck, this would be good to watch whenever, not just on Easter on ABC. So we bought it! We loved this because it had commentary and even the silent film by Mr. DeMille himself! It had wonderful color and a nice sound, and we aren't too particular about it. We would recommend this movie to ANYBODY. We're not sure 3 year olds will sit through all 5 hours, but it has suitable content for everyone. Even if you don't believe in God, all in all, it has a very good moral and wonderful to see something of a past event. It's got romance, action, drama, the works! 5 stars!

You don't need this review. This is the definitive version, in glorious color on DVD. GET IT! VIEW IT AT LEAST ANNUALLY WITH YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY!
