i absolutely love this movie, ive seen remakes and no other beats this one, i would not let small children see this movie how ever it might not be very suitable for them. but it is a very great movie overall. shipping was very fast. ive bought alot of other things from overstock and never had any problems with quality, or shipping and they alwasy have the best competitive prices.

Great scary movie. Not for the little ones though. Be sure and see the newer version of The Shining next.

I have seen this movie before but not on dvd. The scenes that showed the snowcapped mountains was so clear you would think you could touch them.

The horror masterpiece that critics love to hate. Many say that Nicholson and Duvall's performances are over-the-top, and the story strays too far away from the book, but could we have it any other way? Nicholson and Duvall's harrowing performance add to the terrifying presence of the main star: The Overlook Hotel. For this one, read the book and then watch the movie; the two complement each other nicely. Highly recommended film.

This is one heck of a good movie to watch on Halloween.
