Description:

Mackenzie Allen Philips' youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation, and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend. Against his better judgment he arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare. What he finds there will change Mack's world forever.

read it.

truly a life changing book. if you have ever wondered about God, or where the idea of God could ever possibly fit into your life, I promise that you will be able to take at least one thing away from this book that will clarify an understanding for the better. and if you can only take one thing, let me know, because I feel like I walked away with an entirely new perspective. I am so grateful.

I'm not sure what to say about The Shack, It made me look at love and the people around me and even myself in different way a much nicer way. I think everyone should experience it, because more than a story this book is an experience. I am so sorry for that person that reccomends you pass it up. I'll say open it again you may see it different!!

I enjoyed reading the book. At first I was a bit unsure about the contents, but I found that it raised some interesting questions and concepts about who God is and the type of relationship he desires with us. The book did not teach religion, but rather made suggestions as to our common place and our perils as members of the mankind. It was a very thought provoking read.

This is an excellent book. I already had a copy but loaned it out and ordered several more to give as gifts. When I first heard about the book I thought it sounded a bit wacky, but it is so well-written and the relationships are so genuine that it just gives you a good feeling and you won't want to put it down!
