After losing my youngest daughter four years ago in an accident, the need to find answers has been heartwrenching. The term "The Great Sadness" is definitely an appropriate term for the emptiness a parent feels at the loss of a child. The method the author uses is obviously, unconventional at times, but the message brings so much comfort to those of us seeking answers to unanswerable questions. I thank him for putting into words, with such insight and sensitivity, the queries that haunted me.

I have been angry for some time now due to an untimely death in my family (10 years ago) and my friend suggested this book. He was afraid the subject matter of the abduction would be hard to take, but it was the rest of Mitch's journey that hit home for me. I am so very glad I read this book. I am not a 'religious' person per se, but this book profoundly moved me.

The story of The Shack is an amzing venture into faith, love and forgiveness. Going into this book, I didn't know what to expect. What I found was one man's journey to finding a way to come to terms with the loss of his daughter and with his anger towards God for allowing the tragedy to happen. This is a must read.

This book will open your heart and soul. It is the most compelling story I have read in years! A must read for EVERYONE!!!!

This book held my attention from the first page. It was an entertaining novel that presented some ideas that were a bit radical. I did not agree with everything in the book, but I thought the author put together some events and character backgrounds that made the book believable. He entered enough facts that the reader could choose to believe if it happened as an out of body experience, a dream, or a real occurence. The main effect of the book was to present new ways of looking at what we have always believed. Have we assumed things and built on false assumptions? Have we built on false beliefs?

I browsed through The Shack in a neighborhood bookstore and ended up reading more than three chapters. It was captivating. Despite some awkward sentence structure and some obvious theological loopholes, the book is powerful and awesomely creative. Young is certainly kicking our sacred cows with this work, and for those who insist that it be theologically correct, must remember that it is a metaphorical FICTION. Nothing will ever replace the Bible's account of the character and nature of the true and living God. Nothing! Another work equally intriguing and controversial is A Step Into Deliverance by T. Pugh. It is a riveting autobiography about a pastor's amazing journey down the road to the deliverance ministry. A real page-turner.

Incredible book!! Get the kleenex ready cause this one will bring on the tears. Could be one of those life changing books that may put your life on a new track. Don't pick it up unless plan on not putting it down.

I just finished reading this book, and it is simply the most inspiring book I've ever read. If you are looking for a book to truly change your perspective on God, and the way you view life this is definitely the book to read.

A must-read for anyone who is struggling with his/her faith. A must-read for anyone who needs to know that God is Love and God is Mercy. This book is life-changing.

There is much controversy on the book and the movie but with an open mind and realizing The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and simply as we see them, I really enjoyed the book and want to see the movie. I am a Catholic and believe in The Father, Son and Holy Ghost!

I bought two of these...one to share...I couldn't put it down.....and I recommend it to everyone. It changed my whole way of thinking about how God works in our lives..

Great book. It is a read that is hard to put down. The author does an effective job of bringing a difficult/deep concept, like the Trinity, to life. The drama and suspense kept me reading right through, even when I had intended to stop!

Altho the beginning is slow stay with it and you will consider all things differently. A soft and gentle and tender comfort to spiritual healing. Highly recommended~

My sister and I are always recommending good Christian books to each other and when I told her about this one, she went out the same day and bought it. It is a great book. I enjoyed it immensely.

So much hype for this book. I found it a little difficult to read. Perhaps for someone who doesn't already have a firm view of God and is not deep in their beliefs this might be a good spiritualish book. I was hoping it would be some sort of an uplifting read, a story about redemption maybe, but it wasn't at all. It didn't really interest me as fiction and definitely not as a spiritual read. Read the Bible if you're looking to know God.

This was a great book . The writer took you for a most enjoyable trip into what may be the heart of God and what he sees in man kind even when we are at our worst. Powerful is the art of Forgivness.

I found this book very healing. The first part is very very sad. Once you get through the first part it is easier to read. It makes you feel loved and helped me to feel less guilt in my life. It is truly an amazing book. It is hard to explain, you just have to read it. Worth the time. I have read this book three times.
