Description:
In 2008, Texas Congressman Ron Paul did not garner enough votes in the state primaries to make him a viable presidential candidate for the Republican Party. Nor was he taken seriously by many of the talking heads that appeared on Sunday morning talk shows. He surprised them all, however, by garnering an outpouring of support (and money) that served as a wake-up call to other candidates and the press. Paul clearly struck a chord with voters who shared a belief in the same issues he cared about: individual liberty, small government, and a non-adventurous foreign policy. In their eyes, Ron Paul was a highly principled hero who harked back to the early days of the republic, before things got complicated and expensive. In REVOLUTION: A MANIFESTO, Congressman Paul sets down his political and personal philosophy about libertarianism, responsible government, and the end of business as usual in Washington.

I decided to read this book because I was increasing interested in Ron Paul and wanted to learn more about his political & economic philosophies. After reading it I was very glad I did. I agree with him 100% on foreign policy and decentralization of federal government philosophies but about 95% on other philosophies. I will vote for him in 2012 if he decides to run because he is a man of principle and common sense.
I think this book should be required reading by all Americans and those that love America. It takes the place of the academic community's elimination of American History and illuminates the Constitution for busy people on the go.
