This film is a true classic for it's time. The background and subject matter are well known and the movie's notoriety is made based upon the made upon the subject matter (fairy tale, ballet) and rendering (restored images are beautiful). However, I bought this movie primarily because of the cinematographer, Jack Cardiff. The special features and images help make this a great purchase for a movie buff who truly enjoys state of the art (for it's time) films
