As the founding pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City, Tim Keller started his congregation with a few dozen people. It now draws over five thousand weekly attendees who meet in three Manhattan locations. Redeemer has since spawned a movement of churches across America and throughout major world cities. Many pastors model their churches on Redeemer and Tim's thoughtful style of preaching. Dr. Keller lives in New York City with his wife and sons.

A New York Times bestseller people can believe in—by “a pioneer of the new urban Christians” (Christian Today magazine).

Timothy Keller, the founding pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City, addresses the frequent doubts that skeptics and non-believers bring to religion. Using literature, philosophy, anthropology, pop culture, and intellectual reasoning, Keller explains how the belief in a Christian God is, in fact, a sound and rational one. To true believers he offers a solid platform on which to stand against the backlash toward religion spawned by the Age of Skepticism. And to skeptics, atheists, and agnostics he provides a challenging argument for pursuing the reason for God.

The remarkable New York Times bestseller by the "C.S. Lewis for the 21st century" (Newsweek).

    • What a relief...

...to find a serious, smart, kind-hearted but tough-minded Christian author. Strongly recommend the book. Whether you count yourself a believer, a skeptic, undecided, whatever. I particularly appreciate the bold (yet still kind) manner in which he challenges the religious assumptions -- yes, religious -- of secular culture. In our day, secular humanism sort of gets a free pass and is not really challenged. For, to view things from a secular standpoint is to view things from a neutral standpoint, or so we are told. But of course secularism is absolutely not neutral, and secularists need to subject their own world view to the same serious examination as they apply to others. Keller helps sift through various axioms, rhetoric, and unchallenged "default" assumptions. A very helpful book, very well-written, and much needed in our day. This is an honest invitation to serious thought and real dialogue, beyond insane screaming on talk shows and other useless exercises.
