John Ford bought the rights to this story he first read in a magazine, had a script developed and some of his favorites - John Wayne, Maureen O'Hara, Victor McLaghlen and Barry Fitzgerald - to tell the story of a man Irish-born, but taken to America when small, who returns to his ancestral home and finds love and community, but not without a fight. Behind the camera, it's a real family gathering - members of John Ford's, John Wayne's, Maureen O'Hara's and Barry Fitzgerald's family also have speaking roles, and Andrew McLaghlen, Victor's son, is working off-camera. The result is a beautiful film that could move a heart of stone, and just about my favorite film of all time. This is a 10 out of 10!!!

Ok I have spent at least 2 years looking for this on DVD! It's my favorite John Wayne film, soooo beautiful! And Maureen O'Hara is just the most awesome lady that every woman who watches this film wishes she could be! Great movie, I'm not gonna spoil it for you though! if you havent seen it , then it is A MUST SEEE!!!! The whole family will love it.

A must if you have any Irish blood in you or you want to understand the Irish. The staes, John Wayne amd Maureen O'Hara had fun making this picture. John Wayne's children have cameo appearences. Maureen O'Hara's brother plays a priesr. The director, John Ford's brother has a role.. To catch ererything one might have to watch it two or three times.

What is not to love about this great film! Beautiful music and scenery, great characters and romance, and an amazing donnybrook that covers half the Irish county! John Wayne's best romantic role...perhaps. Still love and miss the Duke!

I love pretty much anything with John Wayne, but this movie, with it's humor, romance and wonderful Irish backdrop is my ultimate favorite! You just can't beat the chemistry of Wayne & O'Hara...Especially as he's dragging her acrossed the countryside to fight with her brother...oh, and the fight scene! Classic!

I purchased this movie cause when there is nothing else on I just pop it in, I love John and Maureen together. I never get tired of watching this, and have seen it over 30 times. Even my 16 year old niece who never seen it asked me to play it again. It is a must see for John and Maureen fans.

The Quiet Man is a good ol' Irish tale. Lots of fun, pints, and a tremendous good natured fight scene. Listen carefully to the one-liners!

This movie has always been one of my favorite and whenever you put Maureen O'Hara and John Wayne together it is always a magical experiance. Love the movie till I die and then some.

A sleeper,one of the best love stories,great for all ages,why it did not win an oscar,who knows! Really suitable for all ages,the love for each other and the love of his country,also great supporting characters!

This movie has been a favorite of mine since I was young. I purchased it not only to enjoy it again but for my elderly (86) Father, who lives with me now.

This is a classic movie! The sceanery, as well as the presentatipn of the people is very real. John Wayne and Maureen O'Haha gave the best performance of their entire career in the movies. The director, John Ford, brought the story to the big screen and it was considered to be his best film. I reccomend that you watch this movie every St. Patrick's Day as my husband I have been doing for the past 25 years. In fact the VHS tape we had broke and we went to Overstock.com for the DVD. The color is enhanced and we will continue our yearly enjoyment of this movie for many years to come.
