This is a great book BEFORE you own a cat. It tells you the basics on picking them out, where to get them, and what kinds are best for your family. The few things it doesn't tell you is how to ween your cat out of peeing in the fireplace, drinking out of your cups, or using your stomach as a landing pad. I guess those would be things for each individual cat (like mine). It's a great book to learn the insights about a cat's behavior and what to look for . I would definately recommend this book to anybody thinking about owning a cat. I feel also that it would be great to give to a teenager who is begging their parents for a cat. It'll give them the knowledge before they own their very own pet.
