I honestly thought this was going to be a boring movie but I was very wrong. It was deeply emotional and beautifully written and acted. I especially enjoyed the glimpse into a culture I was unfamiliar with and the exploration of the life of that couple and the lives of their children from conception and beyond.

This movie is great, very touching story. I thought it stayed true to Jumpa Lahiri's book and was directed beautifully by Mira Nair. All the actors in the film delivered a beautiful performance and the cinematography of the film gives all viewers a small glimpse into the marvel and mystery that India and its people hold... read it, watch it, buy it, own it... you won't be sorry. Pick up The Namesake,some popcorn, a nice cozy blanket and some hot cocoa and enjoy, smile, laugh!
