In honor of the upcoming 50th anniversary of the amaziní New York Mets, the New York Daily News has created the definitive commemorative tome for fans. In 1962, the New York Mets stepped in to fill the void left by the exodus of the New York Giants and Brooklyn Dodgers. The Mets were embarrassingly inept in their early years, but after two World Series titles (1969 and 1986), they proved their place in New York baseball history. Along the way, the cast of characters has rarely failed to entertain. This fascinating narrative includes more than 200 of the Daily Newsís greatest Mets images and a fantastic foreword by Ron Darling, making this a must-have book for fans everywhere. Ya gotta believe!

Andy Martino covered the Mets for the New York Daily News in 2008 and 2010. Before that, he taught high school English in Brooklyn and attended the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. He lives in Brooklyn, New York. Anthony McCarron has been writing about sports since 1989 and has worked at the Miami Herald and Newsday. Since 1994, heís been on staff at the New York Daily News and has reported on Major League Baseball since 1999. Ron Darling was a pitcher for the New York Mets, Montreal Expos, and Oakland Athletics between 1983 and 1995. He currently works as a baseball commentator on TBS.
