William Joyce has spent most of his life deciphering the long-lost and nearly destroyed records of the beginnings of the Man in the Moon, Santa Claus, and all the other Guardians of Childhood. The records were discovered on the Joyce family ranch outside of Abilene, Texas, in 1965. When not deciphering, he’s been busy creating picture books, including George Shrinks, Dinosaur Bob, and Santa Calls; winning three Emmy Awards for his Rolie Polie Olie animated series; and developing character concepts for Toy Story and A Bug’s Life. His films include Robots and Meet the Robinsons. He’s currently co-directing the DreamWorks Animation release of Rise of the Guardians (Fall 2012). He lives in Shreveport, Lousiana.
