Heartbreaking and heroic. A follow up book to A CHILD CALLED IT. A tragic truth of one of the worst cases of child abuse in California history - and the strength and passion of the boy to whom the abuse was committed. This is his heroic story.
I absolutely recommend EVERYONE read this book i was about 14 when i first read it i am 22 now and i can still remember everything about this book im not much for reading but when i found this book i ABSOLUTELY COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN when i borrowed it from a friend of mine i read it 3 times in just a few days i was completely astonished that i found a book that brought me to tears, made me so angry, and feel so sorrowful for this young boy (man) This book is great for anyone ages 12 to 99. Dave Pelzer is my hero for what he has overcome.
A book I couldnt put down until I read the whole thing, it is the 2nd in a series of three and you should read all of them. This man(Dave)) is amazing at what he over came and is living a good life for GOD!Read them ALL!!!
Bought this book for my wife as a gift; she couldn't put it down. She had read author's other books and also enjoyed them.
The books I ordered came very quickly. This book is a must to read by everyone. Please read and learn that we can all endure and become what we were made to become.
This book was just as equally good as the other two in the trillogy. This one i thouhgt showed how David got to do things like a normal teen, but with limitations. The only thing was that his "mother" kept pulling him back with thoughts of why she did what she to and why she chose him to veer all of her hatrid toward him. This book i really felt the closeness between David and his father and especially when his father was in the hospital and he was dying, i cried all the way through that part because it touched me so. Then when David whent back to speak to his "mother" and she still didn't call him by his name. I feel that there was alot of unanswered questions and David is a much bigger person than i am by letting it go and accepting what when on all those years ago and just moving on and never confronting her. I personally couldn't have ended it that way.
If you read "A Child Called It", which chronicles the survival of the author's physical and abusive life during his childhood years. "The Lost Boy" is a continuation of the highs and lows in his life from teen into adult years. A must for those interested in the psychological make-up of people.
