I have read this book numerous times and it is entertaining and informative. It is one of the best books for all animal lovers. Nothing compares to it.
James Harriot is a young English vet starting his practice in the 30's and he writes the most harrious and warm stories about farmers, animals and situations he dealt with on his rounds. He is not afraid to poke fun at himself and the series of books are a delight to read. I've been reading them and re-reading them since 1976 and I still laugh at his antics. They are like dear friends you will want to revisit. Which is why I had to buy the books again, I've read them to tatters. If you love animals and people you will love these books (4 in the series).
