I'm not married so this might seem like a bit of a strange book for me to read but I kept thinking I wish I'd read this before I started dating and how glad I am find this book before I get married. If you've ever fought with any man in your life be it your husband, father, son, brother or friend you could benefit from this book. The same is true if you're a man who has argued with your wife, mother, daughter, sister or friend as the book holds principles that while imperative in a marriage relationship will affect every area of male/female conflicts and resolution (in fact the book hopes to avoid conflicts all together?) The book builds on the author's previous release "Love & Respect" and I actually found this book more readable than the first one. He briefly touches on the principles in the first book and then provides practical ideas on how to use these in day-to-day relationships. I found the constant use of acronyms a bit annoying but the broader ideas of how to communicate love (to women) and respect (to men) are simple and straightforward. I've been practicing the principles of unconditional respect with my boyfriend (without his knowledge as he isn't intrested in the book) and our conflict levels have definitely decreased as my ability to show him unconditional respect improves. If you're looking for a quick fix to your marriage or relationship then this isn't the book for you but if you are sincere about seeing the quality of your relationship improve and petty arguments becoming a thing of the past then I couldn't recommend this book more highly. I am even thinking of adding it to the wedding gift of one of my best friends!
