The Koren Sacks Siddur by Rabbi Jonathan Sacks is the new standard in an accurate translation of the Hebrew Siddur. In addition, the new typesetting and layout for both Hebrew and English makes for a better understanding of the text. This Orthodox prayer book does not have parochial slant; and includes many prayers that are not included in other Orthodox prayer books. The prayer book includes substantial commentary by Rabbi Sacks on the meaning and reasoning behind the prayers and associated customs. On the margin of each page, Rabbi Sacks includes the source of each prayer which gives the reader added insight into how the prayer book was compiled by the Rabbi's through the centuries. Rabbi Sacks introduction to "understanding Jewish prayer" is one of the best I have ever read.
