I know this book was based on a true life situation, but I found it very upsetting a quarter of the way through. I then forced myself to read another quarter of the book hoping it would become less upsetting. It did not. I rarely put a book down as unreadable, but I had to with this one. I suspect Mr. Grisham believes this was a story which needed to be told and I certainly feel for he and his family and his wrongful imprisonment, but I see enough upsetting things on the 6 PM news.
It was a gift for my husband, a huge Grisham fan. I thought it was one missing from his collection. Turns out it's because he didn't like it and he just didn't remember reading it.
