Stop while you're happy, don't read beyond the 3rd book. I work in a middle-school library and I have exuberantly recommended the Max Ride series to our students. I will NOT recommend Final Warning. If I wanted an environmental message, I would have rented "Happy Feet". Patterson's obvious priority was sending an environment message rather than continuing the high energy, fast-paced, riotously sarcasm-filled STORY of the first 3 books. All of these attributes were non-existent in Final Warning. Found myself skipping sections and feeling disappointed throughout the book.

My daughter is an avid reader. It is often hard to find the books she wants in the local stores. She has read all of the Maximum Ride series. I bought her the 3rd book for Christmas. I heard about the fourth book, but hadn't seen it anywhere until I checked out Overstock.com. I was thrilled to see the book at such a reasonable price. It was fun to surprise my daughter with yet another book that she REALLY wanted to read.

The book seemed to be written just to fill a deadline, to few pages, short and quick story just to keep the readers happy. Something was missing in the story, the drive and heart if you will was not there. Sad that the first two books were wonderful, the third was also acceptable. But this last one, we really could have done without if the writter was going to run out of steam and give the readers a half-hearted story. Not sure I will read any more of Max.....which is very sad.

If you ever get a chance I would tell you to read James Patterson's Maxiam series. It is an easy read and the characters are adorable. Even children of the fourth or fifth grade level would enjoy this series. I happened upon this series about five years ago when the first book When The Wind Blows came out and I was spellbound . The chapters are short so you can sit down for 10 minutes and probably read a couple of chapters. Great for children who have a short attention span. There are five books in the series now and with the ending of the Final Warning I am sure there will be more. Great! Wonderful book-

As an avid reader of James Patterson books, this on is obviously a hit. It is great to have a series of books written by my favorite author that my children can enjoy as well. I was quite pleased with the content of the book, as it is focused on more then just the fictional characters. I would recommend this series to a friend or even a stranger :)
