From the creator of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES comes a tasty comedy of (table) manners. Pierre and his snobbish friends enjoy a cruel tradition, hosting dinner parties and seeing who can bring dullest, most idiotic guest. Pierre is confident he has found a real champion in Francois, an accountant whose favorite hobby is making matchstick models of famous tourist attractions. But the tables turn when Pierre gets stuck in his apartment for the weekend with Francois, and is forced to dine on his just desserts.

scratching my head
I am flabbergasted by the uniformly rave reviews. I have seen many independent and European films that I have enjoyed over the years. I watched this for 20 long minutes and did not find anything entertaining yet. Nothin rated even a smile. For a five-star movie, I expect not to have to wait so long for a litle payoff. Who knows, maybe I'll get desperate someday, watch the rest, and love it, in which case I will come crawling back on my knees and talk the movie up. But it won't be soon.

Excellent
This movie is hilarious. My guests loved it so much that I ordered three more copies that same night, after we watched it. This is a movie that can be watched by all, even the kids. Order two copies just in case.

If you like to laugh!
I'm so glad I finally found this movie on DVD. I'd seen it a few years ago and loved it. It not only is hilarious, but sadly, provides insight to how people treat people. Best French movie I think I've ever seen. I'd recommend this movie to anyone over 18.

dinner game
this french movie is hilarious! I rented it and then had to buy it. My mom watched it and was laughing out loud through out the whole movie.My husband is a very cynical person and he even liked it. You have to pay attention and read fast but it's not too bad and doesn't detract from the movie.

It has subtitles but it's even more funny when you understand French/ French culture. Hilarious!
