After reading the book, the movie was such a huge let-down. The whole premise of the relationship between the main character and her friends was lost as well as how truly grueling her job was. Streep did an okay job as the Voguelike editor-in-chief, but lacked the grit needed that was found in the book. You will find it okay if you haven't read the book and don't know what you are missing. You will find it very disappointing if you have previously picked up the book and read it. So,...my recommendation---spend money on the book and sit back and REALLY enjoy!
