What a surprise final half hour. This movie deserved the accolades it received. Great cast.

The Departed is a visionary masterpiece brought by Director Martin Scorsese. Filled with intrigue, suspense, humor, and drama, the title has more than enough to offer for all tastes. From the very start of the movie you find yourself drawn into the seamy underworld of lies and double dealings as undercover officer Billy Costigan (Leonardo DiCaprio) infiltrates mob overlord Costello's (Jack nicholson) world of crime and deciet. Opposite Costigan is the criminal Colin Sullivan (Matt Damon) who has become a police officer at the behest of Costello to keep him advised of progress on the investigations into his dealings. As it becomes more and more obvious that there is a mole in the police, Costigan and Sullivan are forced to find the identity of the other before one of them is unmasked. Also featuring Martin Sheen as Costigan's superior and Mark Wahlberg as Sheen's tough-as-nails assistant.
