This book has some beautiful cakes, but extremely advanced. This is totally for someone who's already a pro at fondant and gumpaste. And even then be very creative to copy the cakes. Maybe part of it is that the instructions are not enough for all the work that the cakes have. I already make cakes on my own and are at a fair level of decorating, but this is just too much! I enjoyed the cake on the cover, and maybe 5-6 more, More than half of the book is not on cakes, which I was mislead by it's title! Most of the book is on cupcakes and some cookies, so if you enjoy that this is for you. This review is basically for the cake section, since that was what I intended to purchase, a cake decorating book. I own about 20 cake decorating books and all are very helpfull. This is the worse one I own and surely will get rid of.

While I wouldn't necessarily make all the lovely creations that are in this book, it gives the foundation to create simpler designs which I definitely will do. The directions are clear, ingredient lists are simple, and there are lots of pictures to help.

I love the book but not really what I was expecting. The cakes inside are good but I was looking forward to see more purses cakes, very easy to follow but you need to have experience some how in cakes, easy to do cakes but very dissapointed to have only one puse cake, would like to know if you guys have more books with purses and fancy cakes. Love the book and soon will be making the purse one.

was told that anyone can decorate a cake like a professional with this book. ---- not true if you have never decorated a cake before. the person who said it is the lady who wrote it, and she said it on national t.v. beautiful book, beautiful illistrations, not happy with the the instructions.

Great ideas, super recipes and very good explanations of how to actually create these beautiful cakes. Recommended for near-beginners to those with a lot of experience.
