This book is a small, easy-to-read reference to popular spices. They are in alphabetical order, so looking them up is easy. There is a short snippet on uses, medicinal purposes, and history of each spice, but much is left to be desired. I was hoping the book would have less about the history of the spice and more about the uses. There is some info about what meats, etc. go best with the spices, but there's only about a page or page-and-a-half on each spice, and the pages are only about 6 inches high. It's a cute little book, and it has some interesting points, but I'd look elsewhere if you were looking for longer descriptions and more detailed information.
