  It was with great trepidation that I purchased this disc based on being familiar with the works of only one of the groups featured. But seeing the titles of the songs and then hearing the covers of legendary hits and original material that was crafted with obvious love of Dick Dale, The Ventures and other Surf greats, I was more than pleasantly surprised. A word of warning however. After you listen to this disc, you will crave more. And there lies the problem. All of these groups are on obscure, independent labels that your are just not going to find in your major retail outlets. If you love this music, you are going to have to work to find it . Also be aware that this disc is now over 10 years old. Luckily, the genre is timeless making it all but impossible to tell the difference between a 4 year old recording and one made 44 years ago.

  A great song list that includes just about everything they ever sang plus different variations of certain songs. Nice little bio of how the band got started and what inspired the songs Jan wrote.

  A great compilation of The Ventures big hits. If your'e from the old school, then you have probably spent some time picking an electric guitar along with the Ventures. This CD will bring back some great memories. Kudos to Overstock.Com for having this CD available. I've looked for Ventures tunes locally with no luck.

  I ordered this for my brother in law, who used to listen to Sandy Nelson years ago. He was surprised that I found it on a CD and said it is great. He listens to it all the time. He just loves it! Fast shipping too!! I ordered it, but had it shipped to him in another state. That was great. Thanks Overstock
