An evil history is repeating itself. And one strange, terrified child has ended her silence with a scream that began a hundred years ago.

    • Excellent Horror Story

Back in 1977 when this story was first published, I was 12 years old and begged my mother to buy me this book. I read it during a black out from an ice storm we had that year, with the radio on in the back ground. To this day Dolly Parton's "Here You Come Again" and Queen's "We Are the Champions" give me the chills because I associate them with this book. A true ghost story, this was, and still is, the scariest book I've ever read and that John Saul has ever written. If you're going to read one of his books, this is the one. Enjoy!
