Styx - One with Everything - Blu-Ray (Blu-ray Disc)

For fans of Tommy Shaw and James (JY) Young, this is a great high definition treat. They highlight all their hits with Styx, and best of concert hijinks of the past with the high energy youth choir & orchestra from the midwest (see box for group name and location.)These guys are a hardworking group trying to regain some footing after their unsavory legal break with the band's founder. One very nice thing about this concert is that Chuck Panozzo was invited to perform onstage with them for two great songs that highlighted his bass guitar. At this point I was hoping they would play "Dear John" which was a tribute for his brother who had passed away, and which as a song got meoderate air-play and eternal air-play on muzac. There are three bonus holiday songs if xmas is your thing (it isn't mine). I love the fact that they start off the tape with Blue Collar Man, and properly placed mid-way to the end is a rollicking rendition of Renegade.I enjoyed the fact that JY took over the vocals of older Styx songs like Lorelei, he did a fine job with that. But now that I think back I don't recall hearing Suite Madam Blue. I wonder if they were not allowed to do it legally onstage, they did not play any hits of Dennis'-- not even the really harder rockin' hits (what were those you might ask). A very good concert disc, with very high energy.
