Sharing the same producers and much of the same cast as ALL ABOUT EVE, the popular South Korean mini-series STORY OF FOUR SISTERS is another fine example of the sudsy but high-quality brand of soap opera known as K-drama. Sweeping and romantic, this mini-series chronicles the lives and loves of four sisters in a prominent physician`s family: Hae-jung (Su-jung Hwang) is the kind and loving eldest sister who is treated badly because of her illegitimacy; the second sister, Yu-jin (Rim Chae), is an ambitious doctor who plans on following in her father`s footsteps; third sister Yu-mi (Yeon-hong Ahn), is a materialistic golddigger who preys on wealthy men; and the fourth and youngest sister, Yu-sun (Yae-jin Park), is a high-school student with a heart disease and a hopeless crush on one of her teachers. The series follows these four women through several years of their lives for an epic character study of changing relationships and enduring sisterhood. This collection presents the mini-series in its entirety for a total of 20 episodes.

This story has a lot in common with "Little Women", only they have big women's problems to deal with. Many TV dramas based on the love triangle bog down in long stretches of episode where the few characters just do a lot of walking around looking like miserable zombies and are hard put to fill the time. Well, there's enough misery in this one, but also plenty of other stuff going on. I found that the numerous subplots in which the four sisters were involved kept me interested. Good twists and turns and happy endings.
