I have many jewelry books but this one is excellent for the beginner. Best book that I have owned so far. The photos are great and the instructions are clear and non-intimidating. I am now convinced that I can make jewelry without having to take a formal class. If I do well on my own and really take to metalsmithing, then I will definately spend the money and go to classes. Get this book, you'll be glad you did.

This book covers fundamentals of tools, materials, soldering, wire wrapping, etc. It is a very good book for beginners and has a lot of pictures to go along with the instructions. I am anxious to try out the soldering techniques described in the book.
