Going boldly where no man had gone before, Gene Roddenberry's cult phenomenon STAR TREK debuted in 1966 and reflected that decade's optimistic preoccupation with space travel. Set in the 23rd century, the series chronicled the intergalactic adventures of the U.S.S. Enterprise on its five-year mission to explore the outer reaches of space. Encountering a now-iconic assembly of innovative alien life forms such as the Klingons, Romulans, and Tribbles, the ship's jumpsuited crew was a then unheard-of font of multiculturism: Asian Sulu (George Takei), African-American Uhura (Nichelle Nichols), and Scotsman Montgomery Scott (James Doohan). But it was the contrasting personalities of cooly logical Vulcan Mr. Spock (Leonard Nimoy), emotionally intuitive medical officer Leonard "Bones" McCoy (DeForest Kelley), and womanizing ship captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner in definitive overacting mode) that lent the series much of its charm--and spawned a rabid cult following that continues to fuel costume sales and convention bookings to this very day. This collection presents the groundbreaking show's first three seasons. Beam me up, Scotty!

Updated Memories
While the DVD's bring back fantastic memories of the old series, the updated graphics make them FANtastic. It was like watching new episodes not just old ones!!!

Not just remastered, special effects added.
Being a Trekker from way-way back, I appreciate not just the remastering color and clarity; but; as was done with the re-release of the original Star Wars movies, the special effects which were added looked as if they belonged there. Fantastic job!!!

I thought I was buying this new.
I thought that I had clicked the buy new button but somehow half of my star treks were clearly used and worn. the discs are in good condition but the cases they come in are damaged.

Delivered day earlier then expected. Very happy with my star trek seasons... .do it!! Buy them! Don't regret not purchasing them. You will smile :-)

Better than the originals, the remastered episodes have more color, detail and better effects. The sound is also 5.1. If your old enough to remember when the aired, you will appreciate.
