    neat39  from Macon Georgia, Rating:5.0

I was born and raised in Macon, Ga. Home to some of the best musicians in the business,ie: The Allman Brothers, Otis Redding, ARS, many more. I have always loved their music, Upon the passing of Ronnie Hammond (Lead singer for ARS) I knew i had to have the CD. I only had it on vinyl. He passed in March 2011. this is a truly GREAT cd, anyone who is a fan should add this to their collection . They will not be disappointed. It ROCKS.

  • poor quality remaster

    soundbear Rating:1.0

I got 3 marshall tucker remastered cds by shoutfactory. I also got 3 allman bros cds by capricorn. The shoutfactory recordings were very thin sounding, the highs were overbright and overall sound muddy. The capricorn recordings of the allman brothers were made much better, depth, clarity. It was almost like the engineer at the shout factory let the recording level get way beyond the high mark. I would recommend getting the actual LP of marshall tucker or a japanese import cd.

My husband loves Lynyrd Skynyrd!! I was surprised when he told me he didn't already have this one. So, this was a great addition to his collection.

  • A classic sounding even better.

wideopenthrottle  from San Jose, CA, Rating:4.0

I can still remember the first time I heard "Jessica"! The remastered CD sounds great, much better than the version found on the Allman Bros. box set. If you only buy one Allman Bros. album, this is the one I'd recommend, although "Eat a Peach", particularly the SACD version runs a close second. Bass is more defined and the soundstage somehow seems bigger. Very respectable reissue/remaster of a classic. Buy it! The presentation would be much nicer in the "LP-like" cardboard sleeve vs. the tacky jewel box, but I'm into packaging.
