This book was recommended to me by a behavior analyst at the agency where I work. He said that it was the book that he found to be most helpful for families. As soon as I finished reading it, I ordered the author's other book on SOS for emotions, which I have already started using with some of the teens that I see in my office.

Specific strategies for dealing with misbehavior
We bought this book on a recommendation. It's got some very helpful advice on some basic techniques- in fact you will read it and think it's very basic. But, the helpful thing is that there is some explanation of how the litle things a parent can do or not do in regards to the basics can change the overall picture. We had some "ah ha!" or slap ourself on the forehead moments. Does not condone spanking-more about strategies about time-out and active ignoring.
