Here`s the ultimate Son House collection. It contains all of his Paramount recordings. Decent transfers of these normally battered beyond belief masters make for easier listening than normal, followed by the legendary John Lomax Library of Congress recordings from 1941 and 1942, including the unissued test pressing of "Walkin` Blues." This is Son at his most intense and finer Delta blues recordings next to Charlie Patton and Robert Johnson would be very hard to find. Worth it just to hear "Walkin` Blues" alone with Willie Brown and Charlie Patton whooping it up in the background, true juke joint music at its best. File under essential. ~ Cub Koda
