Sewing for Dummies like me explains alot of what I was wondering. Being a beginner it is very helpful and book is well written and easy to understand.

i received this book a little over a month ago and have been reading through it before i actually try any of the projects. it is very well organized and the writing is pleasant without being annoying with bad jokes like some of the for dummies books can be. i can tell i will be referring to this book constantly. the instructions are very clear with information on tips on every aspect of sewing you could imagine. i'm so glad i bought it and i know it will be my main information source while learning how to sew. all the instructions are for hand sewing and machine sewing. very good book.

I have been sewing for years and still find so many things in this book that I didn't know and tips that make life easier. You could use this as a reference book, or read it cover to cover (like I am) and it is still an interesting read. If you are serious about sewing you need this book!

This is an awesome read, I have learned so many different things. It is user friendly and I could'nt be happier with my purchase. Oh yes I could, I could have her with me. BUT it is what it is.You learn how to slip stitch, hem, blind hem, you get some insight on picking out a sewing machine, they tell you the tools you need in order to have sewing as a hobby or business. You learn little crafts as well as HOME DECOR section for all you home decor gurus. I actually whipped out this book when putting in my first set of sleeves. This is an easy to read and understand book for anyone who sews. I have sewed for years and still learned new things. I gave one to my daughter to start her sewing and it is basic without being insulting. Buy this book for yourself or a friend.

I'm still browsing this book, but so far it has been pretty helpful. I wish I'd had it when I was trying to sew a collar.

If you think you know everything about sewing, this book will prove you wrong. And if you know nothing about sewing, this book is like a bible. Get it and read the whole thing before your next sewing project.
